Welcome to our website. We hope that you will find the information about the practice helpful, who we are, what services we offer, and, more importantly why the practice would suit your pet.
We are a first opinion veterinary surgery serving pet owners and farm clients in Elgin and the surrounding Moray area. Originally set up about 90 years ago in the village of Craigellachie, the practice first opened in Elgin in 1981. In 1995, due to increasing demand for our services we moved premises to our current location at the Wards Veterinary Centre in New Elgin Road, Elgin, Moray.
Claire Garden is now a partner in the practice with Geoff Matthews and this was an appropriate time to change the practice name to Wards Veterinary Centre. The practice is now staffed by 4 veterinary surgeons and 7 support staff.
The surgery is well equiped with
- In-house laboratory facilities.
- Creos high frequency X-Ray generator and Bucky floating table combined with an Idexx digital X-Ray developing system giving superb image resolution and also reducing the exposure to x-rays.
- Cutting Edge surgical laser system.
- The latest in anaesthetic gases all combine to give your pets the high standard of care they deserve.
The surgery was one of the first in Scotland to be inspected and approved by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons practice standards scheme when it was launched and has remained in the scheme since.
Veterinary nurse training is important to the practice which has been an Approved Training Centre for many years. Some of the trainees have stayed on after qualifying and spent many years with us.
We are located in New Elgin Road just opposite Asda and can be located on Google maps by clicking on the following link GOOGLE MAP .
Opening times for the surgery are Monday - Friday 9.00am - 6.30pm Saturday 9.00am - 12.30pm. Consultations are by appointment.
