About Wards Veterinary Centre

The Wards Veterinary Centre is centrally located in Elgin and has ample parking at the practice. We have two consulting rooms and a large waiting room with a range of dog and cat foods as well a leads and other essentials.

The surgery opening hours are 9 - 6.30 Monday - Friday and 9 - 12.30 Saturdays. Consultations are a standard 10 mins and appointments are available during the normal surgeries  Monday - Friday 9.30 -10.30 in the morning and 4.00 - 6.30 in the evening and on Saturdays 9.20 - 12.30. Appointments may be available outwith these times - please phone to enquire. When the surgery is shut one of the vets is on duty to provide 24 hour care for emergencies. Surgical operations are performed most days and routine operations can usually be fitted in within a week of booking.

Dogs and cats are admitted into separate kennels and cattery while awaiting their operations so that they are calmer and more relaxed prior to any surgery or investigation. There is a seperate laboratory equipped with Idexx biochemistry analyser electrolyte analyser as well as a haematology (blood counts) machine. While this often allows rapid identification of many problems there are some tests that are not available in general practice and for these we use the services of a suitably qualified outside laboratory. The X-ray imaging room is fully equiped with Creos high frequency generator and bucky floating table and combined with this is an Idexx digital X-Ray reader which converts the images into quality images for viewing on computer screens. The large preproom is where patients have their anaesthetic administered before being taken through to the theatre for surgery.

Precriptions. For repeat prescriptions please give 24 hours notice when ordering them and collect the next day or use the online request form (see link on home page)
